Process
When I stopped making time lapse videos last year, it was to give myself a little more breathing room for what became a very busy schedule. It was also so that I could take some time and update the way I make these in the first place. I’m using the same camera to record, but I’m saving things directly to my PC so I don’t have to move files off of a slow SD card. I started using DaVinci Resolve to edit instead of the very old (and very free) Shotcut. I Upgraded the graphics card in my PC so that it is rending these videos in 1/3rd of the time it took before. And finally, my lighting situation has improved. (It will improve further soon!) I also really wanted to add some music (royalty free!) along with the little logo in the corner.
TL;DR The production needed to be streamlined and the quality improved all at the same time.
As with everything in life, it’s still a work in progress. I’m playing with the idea of adding commentary in the future, so you may have to deal with my voice. (apologies in advance) Will there be a time lapse for every comic? No. Definitely not. Especially since right now I’m not too far ahead of deadline and want to knock out a bunch before October - but they are back!
