It didn’t make sense to make Leaf’s arm stretch around the porcupine like it does in the thumbnail. So I brought him in closer. This isn’t good though. It’s usually not great when you blend silhouettes this much - and the porcupine’s nose is in Leaf’s eye! Oh no!
This is much better! The saying is true, “Behind every good cartoonist’s success is a good brand of white-out!”
I little bit of this stuff, some elbow-grease and the deed is done. This “Lion” brand liquid paper is not my usual go-to solution, but I like trying out different art supplies and this stuff dries fast. What I prefer is Daler-Rowney white acrylic ink. The catch with that stuff is you have to make sure your inks are completely dry and you have to wait for the acrylic ink to dry. In my experience though, once it’s set it accepts ink very similarly to the Bristol board I use. I need a real inking disaster to know if this Lion stuff is really that good… maybe next time! (I sure hope not…)
